Surf’s Up

The project name Surf’s Up relates strongly to the geological and cultural history of Hangzhou, as well as to the Information Technology Industries.

Based on the unique background of the project and its potentials, this design proposal positions the park as an iconic piece of public open space, sourcing its inspiration from both the cultural, historical and economical context, as well as contemporary, international design elements and programs.

As the core public open space in the IoT Industrial Park, this park reflects Internet of Things and the IT industries in its design features, combining the characteristic sector in with public space, to produce unique places and creative ways to make use of and interact with the park.

The landscape can serve as an oasis in the urban environment, providing people with a place that filters away the hustle of the city, and bringing them closer to nature. This Green Core can also function as the lung of the city, which produces fresh air in addition to provide cooling to the city.
