Olivera Berce is a Senior Associate at Ground, overseeing the technical design, construction, and management of the office’s projects. A talented designer with a detailed focus, Olivera synthetically translates design concepts into built form; excelling at crafting architectural details that capture the essence of the design.
In her role as senior project manager, Olivera guides Ground’s project management team. Her twenty plus years of project management experience has resulted in multiple award-winning projects across the globe.
Olivera received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and Master in Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Ground, Olivera worked in several world-renowned offices on many award-winning international projects.
Jungsoo Kim, BARCH, MLA (languages: Korean, English)
Jungsoo Kim is an Associate Project Manager at Ground, supervising the design of a number of the office’s key projects. A highly organized leader and imaginative designer, Jungsoo is able to synthesize multiple constraints to create a holistic design vision and maintain the integrity of the design through documentation.
She has been involved with more than twenty Ground Inc. projects throughout the United States, British Virgin Islands and South Korea, bringing to them a broad set of skills with a specialization in executing design ideas.
Trained both in Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Jungsoo received her Bachelor of Architecture from the Ewha Womans University, Seoul and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
Yao Xiao, BARCH, MLA (languages: Mandarin, English)
Yao Xiao is an Associate Project Manager at Ground with an added specialty in visualization. She adeptly manages the design of multiple Ground projects and oversees the office’s 3D visual expression. Yao’s professional experience is in both landscape architecture and architecture, including projects in the United States and China.
Yao holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree with honors from Zhejiang University in China where she was awarded the best graduation thesis and a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She has also studied at the Technical University of Munich in Germany.
Yao maintains a strong interest in arts, representation and design theory. Her academic work and writing has been featured in such publications as Platform and El Croquis (Chinese Edition).
Viola Bentivogli, BARCH, MA (languages: Italian, French, English)
Viola Bentivogli is a Design and Marketing Associate at Ground. She is a registered Architect in Italy with professional experience in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning. Her design experience ranges from site specific installations to urban scale master plans. In addition to her work as a designer, Viola has directed marketing strategies and media relations for global landscape architecture and architectural firms and institutions.
Viola studied architectural design in Italy and New Zealand, receiving both her Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Architecture from the Universita' degli Studi di Ferrara. She has worked and lived in Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Viola is a Partner in "Data-Shack", a Harvard-Politecnico di Milano joint program on data science exploring the sharing economy.
Lena Smart, BLA (language: English)
Lena Smart is a Design Associate at Ground. With a background in photography and the arts, Lena brings a strong visual focus to her design process. Her work is inspired by merging the visual environment with the dynamic experience of space.
She has worked on projects ranging in scale from art installations to large-scale planning and campus work. Before working in landscape architecture, she worked in graphic design and furniture development.
Lena earned her Bachelors of Landscape Architecture cum laude from Northeastern University.
Tania Bronsoiler, BARCH, MDES (languages: Spanish, Hebrew, English)
Tania Bronsoiler is a Design Associate at Ground with a particular interest in resilience and sustainability. She is a licensed Architect in Mexico and has over 7 years of professional experience in urban design, landscape architecture and architecture. Tania received a post professional graduate degree from Northeastern in climate change preparedness and has practical experience working with Boston Harbor Now on resiliency issues.
Before moving to Boston, Tania founded her own architecture firm in Cancun, where she managed the design and construction of sustainable architecture projects. Tania has an international background—she has lived and worked in the United States, Australia, Asia, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean.
Tania earned her Bachelor’s in Architecture cum laude from Universidad Iberoamericana and her Master’s in Design for Sustainable Urban Environments magna cum laude from Northeastern University, where she received the Excellence in Urban Landscape Design Award.
Katarina Creamer, BLA, MLA (languages: Slovakian, French, English)
Katarina Creamer is a Planting Design Consultant at Ground. With a background in horticulture, Katarina’s design work is the inspired by the dynamic aesthetic and remedial qualities of plant species and plant communities. She has an extensive experience in sustainable planting design, including the incorporation of passive strategies such as urban rain gardens that help mitigate storm water runoff.
Katarina’s experience is global in scale and location; she has worked on civic spaces, streetscapes, public parks and private gardens, developing designs and planting solutions that create vibrant public spaces.
Katarina studied in Slovakia and France. She earned her Master of Landscape Architecture with Highest Honors from Slovak Agriculture University.
Andrea Porelli, BARCH, MARCH (languages: Italian, English)
Andrea is an Urban Planning Consultant at Ground and a PhD candidate in Urban Regeneration and Economic Development, assisting Ground as needed on urban design and master plan projects. Andrea has worked locally and with international firms on public space design, regional planning and environmental impact studies. He is a licensed Architect in Italy and holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Universita’ degli studi di Ferrara.
Andrea is a visiting scholar at the Department of Economics at Northeastern University, Boston. His research integrates urban and regional planning with economic and public policy, studying inclusive models for urban development in contexts affected by poverty and disinvestment.
